Children, Teen & Adult Classes
Attendance
Children/Teens
Students should arrive 5 minutes before their scheduled class time.
Please email the studio if the student will be absent or significantly late to class.
Please pick up students promptly after class.
Students have the option to make up any missed classes due to sickness or holidays in any of the other classes scheduled that week or the following week.
**Note: Make-up classes must be taken within the school year calendar, extra classes will not be created to act as a make-up class. Please email hello@balletsunmi.com to sign up for a make-up class.
Adults
Adults planning to take class MUST sign up for each class 3 hours before the start time of class. This ensures the class will have enough students to run and gives us ample time to alert students if the class will be canceled.
All classes need a minimum of 4 students to run. In the instance that there are not 4 students, the class will be canceled and you will be notified. If canceled, the unused class will be credited to the dancer’s account for use at a later date. Please see below for the expiration dates of class passes.
Early Cancel: You may cancel your class up to 24 hours before the class without a penalty. The unused class will be credited to the dancer’s account for use at a later date.
Late Cancel: If you cancel your class within the 12-hour window before class, the class will be forfeited from the dancer’s account and cannot be used at a later date.
No-Show: If you no-show a class, you will be forfeited that class, and an extra $5 fee will be charged for the dancer’s unused spot.

Conduct
Ballet Sun-Mi promotes and models appropriate dance etiquette and behavior. You can help us provide a professional, nurturing, safe, and creative environment in our lobby and studio by following our studio policies listed in detail below.
As we share the studio space with other cohorts of the Asian Arts Initiative, we ask that you are respectful of our shared spaces, such as the lobby. The following are some of Ballet Sun-Mi’s rules that we adhere to to keep our shared spaces clean, organized, and functional for all of those utilizing the Asian Arts Initiative:
Toys should be returned to their proper place after use.
Noise should be kept to a minimum. This includes personal conversations, cell phones, and interactions with small children.
Please keep all strollers, scooters, and belongings away from the elevator and all doors.
Please refrain from running in the hallways.
Please keep walkways and carpet areas clear at all times.
As mentioned above, Ballet Sun-Mi strives to provide the best dance education to our students. However, this cannot be done without our studio, so we ask that it is treated with the utmost respect. The following are Ballet Sun-Mi’s studio policies:
No street shoes should be worn on the studio floor. We ask that street shoes are placed in the cubbies within the dance studio or left in the lobby.
No gum, food, or drinks are allowed in the dance area, besides water which can be left on the benches within the studio.
Jewelry must be removed before dance class. This includes wristwatches, necklaces, large rings, bracelets, dangling earrings, and bracelets on wrists or ankles as they are potentially hazardous should they catch on clothing, hair, or other dancers. Small, non-dangling earrings are allowed.
Parents/Guardians are welcome to stay within the lobby during their child’s class. We ask that parents/guardians refrain from peering into the studio through the windows as it can be distracting to the dancers.
